Who Gets President’s Day Weekend in 2018?
The Presidents Day holiday weekend goes to the noncustodial parent in 2018 under the standard Utah holiday schedule. The holiday lasts from Friday at 6 p.m. until Monday at 7 p.m. generally. However if the holiday extends for a lengthier period of time the parent exercising the holiday is generally entitled to that extra time. This is because some school districts give children the Tuesday after Presidents Day off of school.
If you have a child under 18 months of age or if you live 150 miles or more apart from your co-parent then special rules may apply. Not all court orders follow the standard Utah holiday statute and if your order contains different rules then you should follow what your order states.
