Who Gets Mothers Day in 2017?

Mother’s Day falls on May 14 in 2017. Under the Utah holiday schedule, the natural or adoptive mother of a child is entitled to parent-time that day from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. This special event trumps the parent’s regular schedule.

Likewise, come Father’s Day (June 18, 2017) dad is entitled to parent-time from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. even if that would normally be mom’s parent-time.

However, some custody orders do not follow the standard schedule in Utah Code 30-3-35. If your order contains different rules for Mother’s and Father’s Day then you should follow what is in your own order.
