Memorial Day Weekend Parent-time in 2019
The 2019 Memorial Day holiday weekend goes to the custodial parent under the standard parent-time schedule in Utah Code 30-3-35.
For children ages 5 and up the holiday encompasses the Memorial Day weekend beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday until 7 p.m. on Monday unless the holiday extends for a lengthier period of time to which the noncustodial parent is completely entitled. Special rules may apply to children under 5 years of age which are outlined in Utah Code 30-3-35.5.
If you are following the expanded parent-time schedule in Utah Code 30-3-35.1 then the noncustodial parent may keep the child(ren) overnight Monday and deliver them to school Tuesday morning or, if there is no school, at 8am.
These rules are based on the standard holiday provisions of Utah Code 30-3-35. Not every court order follows those provisions and if your order states something different then you should follow what is in your order.
