Veterans Day holiday parent-time in 2019
In odd-numbered years (2019), the Veterans Day holiday (Monday, November 11) goes to noncustodial parents under the state holiday code. The Utah Code defines the “Veterans Day” holiday as “beginning 6 p.m. the day before the holiday until 7 p.m. on the holiday.” The Utah Code also states “if a holiday falls on a weekend or on a Friday or Monday and the total holiday period extends beyond that time so that the child is free from school and the parent is free from work, the noncustodial parent shall be entitled to this lengthier holiday period.”
Bear in mind this applies to the standard Utah holiday schedule for children ages 5 and up. If you have children under age 5 or if you are operating under the out-of-state parent-time schedule then different rules may apply. Also not every custody order follows the standard Utah holiday statute and if your order states something different then you should follow your order. Does this apply for Columbus day holiday?
